Core Beliefs

Rooted in Christ

Our beliefs are grounded in Scripture, united in faith, and focused on the mission of Jesus.

1.

1.

ABOUT GOD

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are co-equal and are also one God.

References: Genesis 1:1, 26-27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Cor.13:14

2.

2.

ABOUT JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is co-equal with the Father, God. Jesus lived a life without sin as a human and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people. He died on a cross and arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will one day return again to earth to reign as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

3.

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God, Jesus Christ. The Spirit is present in the world to make all mankind aware of the need for Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit also lives within every person from the moment of salvation. He provides the believer with the power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance. The Spirit gives all believers a spiritual gift when they are saved by grace. As believers, we seek to live under His guidance daily, submitting ourselves and our will to His.‍

References: 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13, 5:18; Galatians 5:25

ABOUT THE BIBLE

The bible is God’s word to us. The authors were human but under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth and wisdom for Christian beliefs and standards for living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error. No matter the language, dialect, translation, or version, the interpretation of God’s word can and should be read and received within the guidance of the Holy Spirit and while seeking God’s heart.

References: II Timothy 1:13, 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 11:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5

Stories of God's Grace Here

From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt like I belonged. Pearl Street isn’t just a church—it’s family.

Pearl Street has been such a blessing for our whole family. Our kids love their programs, my spouse and I have made lifelong friends, and we’ve all grown so much in our faith together.

Before I found Pearl Street, I felt like I was just going through the motions of life. This church gave me a place to serve and reminded me that God has a purpose for me.
